Sir victor uwaifo welcomes GUS 8 Winner Chris Okagbue     The Gulder Ultimate Search 8 Champions, who recently  toured Edo State, were treated to a warm reception at the Revelation Tourist Palazzo. The Revelation Tourist Palazzo, founded by Nigerian highlife musical maestro, Sir Victor Uwaifo, is a tourist resort which houses sculptural works, paintings and other artworks of the musical legend.       The 10 Champions of Gulder Ultimate Search 8 who visited Sir Uwaifo were: Christopher Okagbue, Anastasia Azike, Kevin Durst, Anthony Igwe, Tony Horsfall, Fejiro Ejogbamu, Peace Ojiegbe, Sunday Gyang, Olanrewaju Alawoki and Patience Ihongbe. They were accompanied by Mr. Bob Manuel Udokwu, the show’s co-anchor. They were received at the Palazzo by  Sir Uwaifo himself, who thanked the contingent for taking out time to pay him a visit.     When asked where he found the time to compose music in addition to painting, sculpting and lecturing at the University of Benin, Sir Uwaifo answered that

Christopher okagbue      GUS 8 has come to an end .The Last six contestants were Kelvin Durst, Anthony Igwe, Tony Horsfall, Christopher okagbue, Fejiro Ejogbamu and Anastasia Azike, who is the last female contestant standing. The final four                  Tony and Fejiro were evicted leaving the final four  . Christopher Okagbue emerged the winner and   walked  away with   N7M ,a brand new SUV and N500,000 wardrobe allowance for one year. Anastasia will automatically get N1M  for being the last girl standing. Congrats to Chris!!!

   After 13 gruelling weeks in Edo State, Gulder Ultimate Search Season 8 ends tommorow . Kelvin Durst, Promise Ojiegbe and Anastasia Azike, Anthony Igwe, Christopher Okagbue, Fejiro Ejogbamu, Tony Horfall, Sunday Gyang and Patience Ihongbe  made the topten contenders but four were evicted  leaving six .      The survivors are Kelvin Durst, Anthony Igwe, Tony Horsfall, Christopher Akagbue, Fejiro Ejogbamu and Anastasia Azike, who is the last female contestant standing.Anastasia will automatically get N1M  for being the last girl standing.         Gulder ultimate search season 8 is almost coming to an end . Out of thirty contestants that entered the jungle ,only ten are remaining as the contenders for the GUS 8 Prize.        Kelvin Durst, Promise Ojiegbe and Anastasia Azike, Anthony Igwe, Christopher Okagbue, Fejiro Ejogbamu, Tony Horfall, Sunday Gyang and Patience Ihongbe  are the finalists , they are back in Ososo jungle as champions a nd as they enter this ‘Final of Finals’ stage, two things occupy each of their minds, survival in the jungle and the grand prize.          Several thousands of Nigerians registered for GUS 8,only 30 were successful for the qualifying stages, 10 advanced to the Contest of Champions stage, but there is only space for one winner!    Kelvin Durst, Anastasia Azike and Promise Ojiegbe have etched their names in the Golden book of the Gulder Ultimate Search. Reason? They are the first set of contestants to qualify for the GUS 8 Final Showdown: ‘The Contest of Champions.’       Geraldine Obi, who was a leading contender, having put up splendid performances in all previous tasks, was the surprise evictee. She crashed out, narrowly missing an automatic spot in the Contest of Champions. She could not withhold the tears as it dawned on her that GUS 8 journey had come to a premature end.     As Anastasia and Promise basked in the euphoria of their victories during the day’s task, they attempted to console Geraldine. It proved abortive as the tears appeared to flow more out of the eyes of Geraldine.       Perhaps, Geraldine had a premonition of her eventual eviction as she cried, shortly before the contestants headed out of their camp to meet Bob Manuel Udokwu, for instructions on the day’s task. The contenders      GUS 8 formally  commenced with a visit by this year’s contestants to the Government House of Edo State, the host state for GUS 8. The Nigerian Breweries delegation, led by Tony Agenmonmen, the Marketing Manager - Lager, was received by Dr. Pius Odudu, Deputy Governor of Edo State        Barely 24 hours in the jungle and the first evictee has emerged! Kehinde Fadojutimi holds the unpleasant record as the first individual to be evicted from the Gulder Ultimate Search 8.     The day began on a bright note for the contestants. Tired, hungry and cold after spending their first night in the jungle under the leaky roof of their ‘half star hotel’, the 10 contestants were still in high spirits as they prepared for the very first contest of the day. After receiving their instructions from Bob Manuel Udokwu, the contestants set about the task.     The GUS 8 contestants arrived to a rousing welcome by the edo state Government which is the host state for this year's edition of the reality TV  programme. It is always painful for a man to see his dreams crash, particularly the one he has high hopes on. The hope of being crowned the ultimate hero that would go home with the ultimate prize of N7 million another N500,000 clothing allowance and a 2011 model SUV jeep in the Gulder Ultimate search 7 evaporated right in the face of Chukwuma Anyanwu. 

22 years old Caroline, an indigene of Imo state, who has hitherto been basking in the euphoria of her escape from the imminent eviction last night, became frozen from fright.

The day’s challenge was called Ladder of Torture. It was an individual task where ability to endure stress and pain was put to test. The seven were each given a ladder where they had to stretch themselves over the slanted ladders for almost an hour.

There was unusual camaraderie in the camp this night and one wondered what was amiss. Everybody was having fun. It wasn’t long before the secret of the lighter mood was discovered. What was it? Food.

It was a hilarious morning today in the camp of the Gulder Ultimate Heroes. The wedding arrangement that was being sarcastically put together by Kunle and Caroline for Chukwuma and Mercy the previous night continues this morning in the jungle.

It was a brighter day for the contestants in the camp. They were all in a lighter mood, hobnobbing together and relishing the foods that came in abundance the previous night.

Not many viewers of this year edition of Gulder Ultimate Search will easily connect 21 years old, Delta state born Tonia Oduah with one of the leading contestants in the 2009 edition of Gulder Ultimate Search, Melvin Oduah.

The contestants were shocked to the marrow when the anchor, Bob-Manuel Udokwu told them the rudiment of the day’s challenge, an individual task that will at the end, lead to the first eviction in the camp.
