          Nigeria’s biggest and most respected music awards, The Headies is back for the seventh year!      Organizers of Hip Hop World Awards which debuted in 2006 this week announced “A countdown to the big day”- which officially kicks off THE HEADIES. “ On July 23, we will have a mini event to give out the car and plaques to last year’s winners, and then the following day, we will officially launch the countdown to the big day by announcing nominees, hosts, sponsors and other plans ” Ayo Animashaun says.      A total of 23 Plaques will be given to last year’s winners- 2face, Don Jazzy, Darey,  Ice Prince, MI, Waje, DJ Tee, Modenine, Cabo Snoop, eLDee, Femi, Dr. Sid, Jah Bless and WizKid with Wizkid leaving with the biggest prize- a brand new Hyundai Sonata 2011.     Though yet to make the date of The Headies public, Hip Hop World Awards is already dangling a new theme “step into the spotlight” before rising and established Nigerian acts whose materials – released betwe

   The headies secretariat is now open to receive entries of music materials for nomination at the 2012 edition of the prestigious music award    Entry requirements for nomination are: 3 Audio CDs 4DVDs 1 Mini DV tape Soft copies of artiste's profile and potrait picture.      Entry starts 4th of June and ends 30th of June . The Headies secretariat is located at No. 4, Ogundana Street, off Allen, Ikeja - Lagos. Only music materials released between March 2011 and February 2012 qualify for entry.

    Organizers of the annual urbane music awards The Headies (Hip hop world awards) have revealed the first set of artistes who will be thrilling guests and delivering series of remarkable performances at the upcoming event.   Olamide, MI, Flavour, Brymo, Waje, Muna, Tiwa Savage, Ice prince, Omawumi and Dr Sid are the first set of performers to be announced for this year’s edition.    Fast rising female sensation Tiwa Savage and Coded Tunes act Olamide are the first set of artistes booked to perform at this year’s show, while Chocolate City’s Iceprince and Brymo will be performing one of Nigeria’s favorite songs “Oleku” on their first Hip hop world Awards debut.
