Winnie Mandela's Biopic"Winnie" New Trailer Released

      New trailer for winnie Mandela's Biopic " Winnie"  has been released .The biopic directed by Darrell Roodt  Starring Jennifer Hudson as winnie mandela ,Terence Howard as nelson mandela  chronicles the life of Winnie Mandela from her childhood through her marriage and her husband's incarceration.     Winnie premiered at the toronto international film festival last year. Mandela's 94th Birthday To Break Guiness World Records With 20 Million People Singing

Nelson madela    A planned attempt to break a world record, with over 20 million people singing “happy birthday” to former president Nelson Mandela , was announced on Tuesday.    “ This year we hope to break the Guinness Book of World Records with more than 20 million South Africans singing, ” Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga and Lead SA said in a statement.“ We want to encourage the nation to join in .”    Last year the department and the civic participation group arranged for millions of school children to sing to Mandela at 8am on his birthday.Lead SA spokesman Yusuf Abramjee said he was confident that the public would show their love and affection for Mandela by participating in singing to him on his 94th birthday on July 18. “In addition to the millions of school children, we want people in offices, in factories and those out on the streets to join in.. .”   The SHOUT Foundation, a movement aimed at reducing crime, committed 94 singers to record the song for distribution

Idris Elba Confirmed to Play Nelson Mandela In Official Biopic

 British actor  Idris Elba  has been confirmed to play  Nelson Mandela  in long-awaited biopic  The Long Walk To Freedom .          Charting the whole of Mandela's life,  The Long Walk To Freedom  will include scenes shot on Robben Island, where Mandela spent 18 of his 27 years in prison   "My big project this year, I'm going to go play Nelson Mandela. Nelson Mandela Discharged From Hospital

    Former President Nelson Mandela has been discharged from hospital following his admission yesterday , Saturday 25 February.     The doctors have decided to send him home as the diagnostic procedure he underwent did not indicate anything seriously wrong with him. The 93-year-old anti-apartheid crusader underwent a laparoscopy to help determine the cause of the stomach issue that sent him to the hospital on Saturday ,spokesman Mac Maharaj told The Associated Press.    Mandela "is surrounded by his family and is relaxed and comfortable. The doctors are happy with the progress he is making," South African President Jacob Zuma said in a statement.  President Zuma thanks the public for the good wishes and support .

Nelson Mandela Admitted to Hospital

     Former South African president Nelson Mandela, 93 ,  was admitted to hospital on Saturday for treatment for a "long-standing abdominal complaint".    President Jacob Zuma wishes to advise that.." Mandela was admitted to hospital today, 25 February 2012, "  said in a statement.     " Madiba has had a long-standing abdominal complaint and doctors feel it needs proper specialist medical attention." The Presidency is wishing him a speedy recovery. "we assure him  (Mandela) of the love and good wishes of all South Africans and people throughout the world. "said in the statement. It was not known which hospital he was taken to. Update :He  is reported to be stable in hospital following his abdominal treatment.

Nelson Mandela's Life Story to be turned into TV Series titled Madiba

         The life of south africa's first black president and african icon Nelson Mandela will be the subject of a six-hour mini-series, titled Madiba .             Madiba  is to be the subject of a $20m (£13m) TV mini-series spanning six decades and the momentous events leading to his election as South  Africa 's first black president after 27 years in jail. Mandela, now 93, has given his approval for the six-hour  drama , which is due to go into production later this year, shooting primarily on location in  South Africa .    Madiba is being written by Nigel Williams, the British novelist, screenwriter and playwright, whose previous TV credits include an adaptation of his own novel The Wimbledon Poisoner and Elizabeth I, starring Helen Mirren.     The mini-series is being co-produced by his grandson, Kweku Mandela, UK film-makers  Andy Harries and Marigo Kehoe through their production company, Left Bank Pictures.        Kweku Mandela said Madiba would not just be another

    British actor , Idris elba is about to sign on to play the role of African leader ,Nelson Mandela in an official biopic .        Elba currently stars as BBC crime thriller  Luther , and his movie credits include  28 Weeks Later ,  American Gangster  and  Obsessed . He recently expressed an interest in taking over the role of James Bond from  Daniel Craig .       Previous actors to play Mandela on the big screen include  Terrence Howard  in  Winnie  and  Morgan Freeman  in  Invictus .  Before Elba's name came up, actors including  Will Smith  and  Denzel Washington  had been linked to the iconic role.     The biopic will start filming next year

At 91, though he might have been physically slowed down by age, his impact and message is stronger than ever. In his birthday message, Mr. Mandela called on the world to take responsibility for all that is happening around us and improve the world that we live in. Referencing the struggle and subsequent freedom from apartheid in South Africa, Mr Mandela stated that it was a collection effort. This year, South Africa marked ‘Nelson Mandela Day’ on the 18th of July, people were encouraged to do voluntary work in their communities.
