Dineo       The 2011 Channel O Music Video Awards, brought to you in association with Hyundai and presented by South Africa’s Dineo Moeketsi and Nigeria’s Banky W, will be broadcast LIVE on Friday, 11 November at 21:00.      It will be preceded by a one-hour V-Entertainment Channel O Music Video Awards Red Carpet special hosted by Siyabonga “Scoop” Ngwekazi and Lalla “Miss LA” Hirayama. The fun-filled, super glamorous Vuzu special will showcase the fashion, the stars, the celebrities and the build-up to the LIVE event as well as several inserts that look back at the best moments in Africa’s longest-running continent-wide awards event.       The 2011 Channel O Music Video Awards will feature a host of star-studded, unique live performances that will thrill viewers at home.     Nigerian superstar, Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo popularly known as   D’Banj , has been named as this year’s Special Recognition award recipient at the upcoming Channel O Music Video Awards which will be broadcast LIVE on Friday, 11 November. D’Banj follows in the footsteps of many of Africa’s most prominent and successful musicians including K’NAAN who was given the Special Recognition award in 2010, Brenda Fassie in 2009 as well as George Lee in 2008. Being honoured in this way by the Channel O Music Video Awards, brought to you in association with Hyundai, is even more notable for the fact that D’Banj released his debut album just six years ago. However, such has his impact been nationally, continentally and now internationally with his signing to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music record label, that D’Banj more than deserves this highly prestigious award. Now D’banj’s 2011 is set to get even better as he’s honoured by Africa’s longest-running music awards with the Channel O Music Video Award

         This year’s Channel O Music Video Awards red carpet will be taken on by Angolan Channel O VJ turned Big Brother superstar Weza and Tanzania beauty  Jokate .      Weza will be stationed on the main red carpet to get up close and personal interviews with artists and celebrities while Jokate will venture out to the pre drinks area as well as back stage at the awards.       Weza joined Channel O as Top Mais host – a music chart show that celebrates both local and internationally based Hip-Hop and R&B artists, the crème de le crème that Mozambique and Angola has to offer – and this year sees 24 year university graduate Jokate Urban Mwegelo who hails from Tanzania join the O family.      Dineo Moeketsi and Banky W have been confirmed to host the 2011 Channel O Music Video awards.
