2012 BillBoard Music Awards Holds May in Vegas

Justin bieber receives Top Digital Media Artist Award in 2011      The 2012 Billboard Music Awards will  hold May 20 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.   The BBMAs will air live on ABC in partnership with Chevrolet and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, and are being co-executive produced by Richard Beckman and Don Mischer.      The awards will reflect Billboard's chart rankings based on key fan interactions with music, including album sales and downloads, track downloads, radio airplay and touring as well as streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, Vevo, Youtube, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music.       The awards will be based on the reporting period of March 1, 2011 through February 29, 2012. Top artists will be recognized in a variety of genres, including R&B, Rap, Pop, Country, Rock, Latin and Alternative.  Performers and presenters will be announced soon.

2012 Africa Movie Academy Awards Calls for Entries

Press release      The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) is calling for feature, short and documentary entries for its 2012 edition, to be held in April in Nigeria, home to the world’s third largest film industry. The deadline for submissions is 30 December 2011.    Since its inception in 2005, AMAA has established itself as the most prestigious and glamorous awards celebrating filmmaking on the continent. Irish boyband "Westlife" to split in 2012

    Chart-topping Irish boyband Westlife,  have been delighting fans for the past 14 years, but have announced they are splitting next year. Following a greatest hits album and a farewell tour, the Irish foursome - Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan ,have announced they will part ways amicably reported daily mail.      "After 14 years, 26 top ten hits including 14 number one singles, 11 top 5 albums, seven of which hit the top spot and have collectively sold over 44 million copies around the world, 10 sell-out tours and countless memories that we will forever cherish, we today announce our plan to go our separate ways after a greatest hits collection this Christmas and a farewell tour next year," read a statement released by the band.
