    African film academy, the organizers of African Movie academy awards(AMAA)  have revealed the 8th Annual AMAA award Nominations party will hold March 17,2012 in Ghana .     Africa Film Academy (AFA) invited filmmakers last july to submit their Feature, Short, and Documentary works in order to be considered for Nominations.      The nominations closed december 30,2011 . Only films produced and released between December 2010 and December 2011 would enter for the 2012 AMAA as disclosed to celebregion by the organizers.      The Nominees in all categories will be announced during the night. Music stars and comedians have been billed to perform .    The 2012 AMAA Awards will take place April 22,2012 and the theme for this year is Africa rising.     Hollywood stars that have graced the Award ceemony in the past include Forest Whitaker, Angela B ,Danny Glover and Cuba Gooding .

      Film contact.com,The africa Movie Academy Awards and Beautiful Africa are giving 20 scriptwriters the opportunity to direct their own 3-5 minute film scripts for a documentary series promoting Africa in a positive and entertaining light    The best scripts will receive full production support to produce, shoot and edit their films anywhere in Africa. The short films will also compete at film festivals around the world, be entered into The Africa Movie Academy Awards, and be offered to international broadcasters as fillers. Possible topics include: • Arts • Economy • Environment • People • Technology • Traditions • Wisdom The aim is to change perceptions of Africa, repositioning the continent as a place of beauty and opportunity. There are prizes for the top three completed films. First prize: $5 000 Second prize: $2 500 Third prize: $1 000 Deadline: 31 January 2012.     African movie academy awards nominations night was held in nairobi ,Kenya last night as we earlier posted .It was a well attended event by both nollywood  and ghallywood stars.
