Jailed Vybz Kartel Ordered To Pay $15 Million For Missed Concert Appearance

       The Supreme Court has ordered a  default judgement  of roughly $15 million against jailed Jamaican star Vybz Kartel i n relation to him failing to honor an agreement to perform in the  Turks and Caicos Islands  in 2009.        Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, was ordered by the Supreme Court to pay Jamaican promoter Alton Salmon for breach of contract. Salmon, who promotes under Abuka Entertainment, said that there was a riot at the venue on August 14, 2009 after Kartel failed to appear and suffered significant losses.     The popular artist had been in custody since October 1 after being charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and illegal possession of a firearm following the deaths of Clive 'Lizard' Williams in August and Gregory Park in July. 

Vybz Kartel Hit With Two New Charges in Murder Case

    Embattled Dancehall superstar, Adidja Palmer, more popularly known as  Vybz Kartel,  now faces two additional charges in one of his murder cases.     On Wednesday morning, the prominent entertainer was charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and attempting to pervert the course of justice regarding the Clive “Lizard” Williams murder case. Kartel’s Portmore Empire protégé, Vanessa Saddler, otherwise known as  Gaza Slim,  also stands charged with the same offences.     Law enforcement officials insist that they possess a cellular phone containing a text message in which Vybz Kartel allegedly ordered Gaza Slim to concoct a robbery story in an attempt to aid his legal defense.     Earlier this month, Vybz hit the headlines for allegedly escaping prison with seven other convicts   and killing a guard in the process. Ragae star,Vybz Kartel Escapes From Prison After Holding Officer At Gunpoint

   ----  Named jamaican most wanted criminal       Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel, who earlier this month was denied bail after being charged with two murders, has reportedly escaped from prison.       The popular artist had been in custody since October 1 after being charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and illegal possession of a firearm following the deaths of Clive 'Lizard' Williams in August and Gregory Park in July.      Reports from Jamaica now claim Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, escaped from Horizon Adult Remand Centre along with seven other prisoners after apparently holding the prison guards hostage at gunpoint.       According to the Hype Life Magazine, one prison officer died of a heart attack as a result of the escape while 12 others were injured. Reggae Star Vybz Kartel Denied Bail for two Murder charges

     A judge in Jamaica has refused bail for a popular rapper facing two murder charges. The ruling Wednesday rejects a bail application by 35-year-old Vybz Kartel in the slaying of a 27-year-old music promoter who was gunned down on a street corner in July.    Resident Magistrate Opal Smith has not given a reason for refusing bail. Kartel has also been charged in an August slaying. Assistant Police Commissioner Ealan Powell has said the dancehall reggae star is being investigated in connection with “a number of murders, shootings and gunrunning.” Kartel’s defense team has not yet commented on the bail refusal.

Ragae star Vybz Kartel Arrested On Drugs Charge, Investigated In Connection With Murder

     Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel - real name Adidja A. Palmer - was arrested on Friday in New Kingston, Jamaica for marijuana possession. According to the  Jamaica Observer , the musician is currently in custody after police found a body at a St. Andrews house that the 35-year-old visits. The entrepreneur who has his own liquor line, branded condoms and is looking to release his own shoe line in the near future is said to be assembling a legal team to fight the charge.    His attorney Tom Tavares-Finson said: “What he has essentially been doing is putting his legal team together, which is myself, Michael Deans, and Christian Tavares-Finson." No further details regarding the drugs charge have been released
