    Music superstar,Iyanya has expressed surprise at the recently compiled hit list of songs that have made their mark through the years.Iyanya's grouse was at the absence of his smash hit,'Kukere' on the list.   The list which is made up of a number of great hit songs over the years failed to include Iyanya's 'Kukere', and the singer has expressed disappointment over the absence of his song as he took to Twitter to   Iyanya's groundbreaking "Kukere" took Nigeria by storm as it topped every significant music chart around the country not forgetting it peaked at number 1 on Sound-city's Viewers Choice, rhythm FM, and the Beat FM's Blackberry Top Ten Countdown. To celebrate the 50 anniversary of Nigerian independence on 1 October, MTV base (DStv Channel 322, AIT, STV and DBN) is going Nigeria crazy, with a special  I Love Naija  themed long weekend running from 1-3 October.

The information reaching us now is  that MTV base VJ Cynthia Okpala has just got engaged to her friend and partner Ozoemena Mbanefo , with plans to exchange vows before year-end. Okpala, who won the MTV base VJ search in 2007 has been dating Mbanefo for a while – before he proposed on June 12 during a group church outing. ‘We have our pastors’ blessings already and we’re already working towards a date,’ said Cynthia who’s getting ready to tape her new MTV base show, MTV base.IQ Sweetened B y Buttermint later in the month.  The bubbly bride-to-be will be back on our TV screens on DStv, STV and AIT from August 2010.
