Meryl streep wins third oscar    The 85th Academy Awards have been set for Feb. 24, 2013, and they'll take place once again at the Hollywood & Highland center    The venue, formerly known as the Kodak theatre,opened in 2001 to be the permanent home of the Holywood's biggest  awards ceremony .     The 85th Academy Awards nominations will be announced on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, and the Oscar  telecast will be presented on Sunday, February 24th.   The ceremony will be televised live by the ABC television network to more than 225 countries.   Meryl Streep and Octavia spencer are part of this year's Oscar winners.

Meryl streep      The 84th Academy Awards took place last night . Meryl Streep  joined a very exclusive club on Sunday, winning her third acting Oscar for her role as a strident  Margaret Thatcher  in "The Iron Lady." Streep, 62, won best actress for her 17th Oscar nomination, the most times any performer has been nominated by the Academy.    Her third win put her in a category with other three-time Oscar winners  Jack Nicholson ,  Walter Brennan  and  Ingrid Bergman . Only Katharine Hepburn  with four wins had more. "When they called my name, I had this feeling I could hear half of America going, 'Oh no... her again,'" Streep said. Kate winslet received 2009 BAFTA awards       The BAFTA 2012 (Orange British Academy Film Awards) nominations were announced this morning.     Meryl Streep was nominated for the coveted Leading Actress award for her role as Margaret Thatcher in  The Iron Lady , while Michelle Williams is also up for the gong for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in  My Week With Marilyn.     Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Gary Oldman, Jean Dujardin and Michael Fassbender will contend for  Leading Actor award. Silent film  The Artist  has scooped the largest number of nominations at this year’s BAFTAs, up for a mammoth 12 gongs. The awards will be handed out on February 12 at London's Royal Opera House.
