Kate winslet received 2009 BAFTA awards
The BAFTA 2012 (Orange British Academy Film Awards) nominations were announced this morning.
Meryl Streep was nominated for the coveted Leading Actress award for her role as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady, while Michelle Williams is also up for the gong for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn.
Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Gary Oldman, Jean Dujardin and Michael Fassbender will contend for Leading Actor award.
Silent film The Artist has scooped the largest number of nominations at this year’s BAFTAs, up for a mammoth 12 gongs.The awards will be handed out on February 12 at London's Royal Opera House.
