Reggae Star 'Elephant Man' Charged With Rape & Assault In Jamaica

   Dancehall Reggae star  Elephant Man  whose real name is Oniel Bryan, has been charged with grevious sexual assault and rape.     The entertainer was taken into police custody yesterday for allegations that he raped a 31-year-old female at his Hillcrest Avenue, St Andrew home this month.    Investigators said a woman, believed to be of Chinese descent who was recently introduced to Elephant Man,  filed a police report shortly after claiming that the star sexually assaulted her.   Elephant man was taken into custody by detectives from the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse and was questioned   in the presence of his attorney and then later charged with grievous sexual assault and rape.    The star was booked to appear in court today.

Ragae star,Vybz Kartel Escapes From Prison After Holding Officer At Gunpoint

   ----  Named jamaican most wanted criminal       Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel, who earlier this month was denied bail after being charged with two murders, has reportedly escaped from prison.       The popular artist had been in custody since October 1 after being charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and illegal possession of a firearm following the deaths of Clive 'Lizard' Williams in August and Gregory Park in July.      Reports from Jamaica now claim Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, escaped from Horizon Adult Remand Centre along with seven other prisoners after apparently holding the prison guards hostage at gunpoint.       According to the Hype Life Magazine, one prison officer died of a heart attack as a result of the escape while 12 others were injured.     One of Jamaica's most popular deejays "Vybez Kartel "now has a second murder charge against him.      Police say 35-year-old dancehall star Vybz Kartel ( Adidja A. Palmer ) was charged late Monday in the August slaying of a Jamaican man nicknamed "Lizard."     Earlier this month, police accused the rapper of conspiring with others to kill a 27-year-old music promoter who was gunned down on a street corner.    Assistant Police Commissioner Ealan Powell tells the Jamaica Gleaner that Kartel is being investigated "in connection with a number of murders, shootings and gunrunning."     Kartel's defense attorney could not be reached about the latest allegations on Tuesday.

Ragae star Vybz Kartel Arrested On Drugs Charge, Investigated In Connection With Murder

     Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel - real name Adidja A. Palmer - was arrested on Friday in New Kingston, Jamaica for marijuana possession. According to the  Jamaica Observer , the musician is currently in custody after police found a body at a St. Andrews house that the 35-year-old visits. The entrepreneur who has his own liquor line, branded condoms and is looking to release his own shoe line in the near future is said to be assembling a legal team to fight the charge.    His attorney Tom Tavares-Finson said: “What he has essentially been doing is putting his legal team together, which is myself, Michael Deans, and Christian Tavares-Finson." No further details regarding the drugs charge have been released
