Letterman lands Obama and Jay Z as first guests on new Netflix show

    Veteran former U.S. talk show host David Letterman will return to television on Jan. 12 in a new Netflix show where his first guest will be former U.S. President Barack Obama, Netflix Inc ( NFLX.O ) said on Friday. Called “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman,” the six-episode series will also feature interviews with actor George Clooney, rapper Jay-Z, radio shock jock Howard Stern, comedian Tina Fey and Pakistani education activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, the streaming service said.

Rapper K'Naan Upset Mitt Romney uses his song for Campaign,Prefers Obama

K Naan  - Mitt Romey     The Somali born,canadian-based Rapper K' Naan  is upset that  Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney  used his song "Wavin' Flag" during his Florida primary victory speech.     In a statement  released Wednesday, K'naan says  Romney 's  campaign  did not seek approval to use the song and that he would not have granted permission if he had.    The rapper says he would happily grant President Barack Obama's campaign the use of the song. K'Naan says he wants to make sure Romney does not use his song again and he is seeking legal action. He tweeted;     Romney spokesman  Rick Gorka  says the song was used through the campaign's regular blanket license but, out of respect for K'Naan's statement, it won't be used again. "Wavin Flag" was an international hit for K'Naan in 2010, co-written and co-produced by Bruno Mars' production team, The Smeezingtons.

      President barack obama 's 2008 campaign got help from the music world and now it appears he is s asking for its aid again as he gears up for this year's re-election campaign.      As part of the campaign process, a  list  of potential celebrity endorsers was given to campaign donors .      Will.i.am and Black Eyed Peas bandmate Fergie, India.Arie, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jamie Foxx, John Legend, Adam Levine, Ricky Martin and Chris Cornell, as well as Hollywood and political heavyweights ranging from George Clooney to Emanuel Rahm were among the 194 names submitted. Many of the artists have been contacted already .      In the 2008 Obama campaign, stars including John Legend and Common joined will.i.am in a viral music video, "Yes We Can," based on an Obama speech which has now received  over 23 million views.

President Obama sends note for Rapper Heavy D funeral

John legend, Jayz , queen latifah, p.diddy, rosie perez      Heavy D was remembered through laughter and tear at a funeral service Friday that included humorous anecdotes from longtime friend Diddy and words of encouragement for his  young daughter , delivered in a letter from President barack obama "We extend our heartfelt condolences at this difficult time. He will be remembered for his infectious optimism and many contributions to  American music . President Obama appoints singer Shakira to Education advisory panel

     Columbian singer /songwriter  shakira has been appointed by president barack obama to his Advisory commision on Educational excellence for Hispanics, along with a a series of Democrat-affiliated advocates and boosters. Shakira got  her slot on the educational commission in part because president obama is ramping up his outreach to Hispanics by promoting Hispanic celebrities.      Shakira’s appointment follows Obama’s recent description of another diva, Lady Gaga, as a leader of the gay and lesbian communities.      Shakira is also involved with educational issues in her homeland through her Barefoot Foundation, and has worked to ensure students in Haiti and South Africa have access to nutritious meals as well as educational and psychological support services.

OSLO – President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples," the Norwegian Nobel Committee said, citing his outreach to the Muslim world and attempts to curb nuclear proliferation.
