After Spain's began its World Cup run with a 1-0 loss to Switzerland, the English media tried to push stories of goalkeeper and captain Iker Casillas' television reporter girlfriend Sara Carbonero being  blamed for the defeat  simply for being present. It turned out she really wasn't and she certainly isn't being blamed for anything now as Spain lifts the World Cup trophy for the first time.
