Mandela's 94th Birthday To Break Guiness World Records With 20 Million People Singing

Nelson madela    A planned attempt to break a world record, with over 20 million people singing “happy birthday” to former president Nelson Mandela , was announced on Tuesday.    “ This year we hope to break the Guinness Book of World Records with more than 20 million South Africans singing, ” Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga and Lead SA said in a statement.“ We want to encourage the nation to join in .”    Last year the department and the civic participation group arranged for millions of school children to sing to Mandela at 8am on his birthday.Lead SA spokesman Yusuf Abramjee said he was confident that the public would show their love and affection for Mandela by participating in singing to him on his 94th birthday on July 18. “In addition to the millions of school children, we want people in offices, in factories and those out on the streets to join in.. .”   The SHOUT Foundation, a movement aimed at reducing crime, committed 94 singers to record the song for distribution

Michelle Obama Breaks Guinness World Record for jumping jacks

      Michelle Obama  has earned her family another place in history by breaking Guiness world records.   The First Lady of the United States used her platform once again to inspire people to  lead healthier lifestyles.  Michelle Obama , 47,  attempted to break the record for 'Most People Doing Jumping Jacks In A 24-Hour Period."     Michelle invited hundreds of local school children to the South Lawn Tuesday oct.11 where they were  monitored by an official from Guinness World Records who signal the beginning of a 24-hour challenge.     In a video from the White House, Mrs. Obama thanked  National Geographic Kids  and the  Guinness Book of World Records , who helped organize the event  " More than anything, I want to say, thanks to every single young person who showed that exercise isn't just good for you, but that it's fun too," Mrs. Obama said.     Other jumping jack events were held around the world to reach the world-record mark. O Music Awards Dance Marathon Sets Guinness Record following Nigerian rapper Chiddy's

The dancers     A dance team sets a Guinness World Record at the O Music Awards on Monday night.A group of tireless hoofers grinded it out for 24 hours to snatch the Guinness record for the Longest Team Dance Marathon. The group of dancers , a lucky 13  assembled at the Roxy in Hollywood on Halloween Eve to kick off their attempt with some musical assistance from DJ Diamond Kuts. And then they were off, tearing it up, with minimal five-minute breaks per hour, for 24 hours.       It was all for a good cause, to raise awareness for National Bullying Prevention Month and to raise cash for a number of anti-bullying campaigns from groups including GLAAD, GLSEN, GSA Network, HRC and the It Gets Better Project and Trevor Project.    The dancers celebrated by stomping the balloons and, well, doing a bit more dancing to MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This," pausing only to receive their official Guinness World Record certificate.        Nigerian rapper Chiddy of Chiddy bang

      Michelle Obama Trying To Break Guinness World Record.   The First Lady of the United States is using her platform once again to inspire people to  lead healthier lifestyles.  Michelle Obama , 47, will attempt to break the record for 'Most People Doing Jumping Jacks In A 24-Hour Period."      In order  to break the record, Obama is inviting hundreds of local school children to the South Lawn Tuesday oct.11 where they'll be monitored by an official from Guinness World Records who signal the beginning of a 24-hour challenge.   The current record is 20,425 jumpers.      In order to break the record, Michelle must get over 20,000 people to do jumping jacks for at least one minute.
