Remembering Christy Essien Igbokwe One Year Later

Christy Essien-Igbokwe :1960-2011       It will be one year on June 30, 2012  the Lady of Songs, Chief (Dr.) Mrs. Christy Essien-Igbokwe , mfr, fica, transited to eternal glory. The family has decided to have a solemn memorial during the Sunday service at the Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, Oba Akinjobi Way, G. R. A, Ikeja, Lagos on Sunday - July 1, 2012.      In a statement released by chief edwin igbokwe , he said,  "It is rather for us a sober moment to reunite with her in faith and spirit as our family always did together while she was here with us, and time to glorify God who had admitted her into His place of Eternal Peace in Heaven. That is the path me and Christy’s (biological) four sons have thought we should rather go for the commemoration of her one year of transition to eternal glory".     The church service starts at 10a.m but the Igbokwe family and friends will be called to the Altar at about 11.30a.m.

Defamation of Character;Tony Okoroji Sues Onyeka Onwenu for N200M

    Legendary Musician , Onyeka Onwenu  accused  Copyright society of Nigeria (COSON) boss  Tony Okoroji   of pocketing   N3Million cross river state government donated for Christy Essien Igbokwe's burial .Now Tony Okoroji is suing her for defamation of character .    Tony Okoroji, who served alongside Onyeka Onwenu on the Christy Essien-Igbowe Burial Committee headed by Austin Izagbo, is asking for N200m, within two weeks, for a damaging article which the singer published in one of the national dailies last week as regards the N3m.     In a letter dated October 17, written on behalf of Tony Okoroji by Justin Ige of Seun Omotoba Law Chambers, made available to National Mirror, Okoroji is also demanding a full page apology published in five national dailies in addition to the said sum, as compensation for the embarrassment the article caused him.     Portions of the letter read: The attention of our client has been drawn to an e-mail titled: A Letter to Tony Okoroji: Where is t

kaka and mum      The second son of lady of songs, Late christy Essien Igbokwe,  Chinwuba ‘Kaka’ Igbokwe is getting married today 8th of october ,2011.  The wedding will  be taking place   today at the Arch Bishop Vinning Memorial Church, Ikeja Lagos.     Kaka, a rap artist following in the steps of his late and who spoke to  vanguard  writer with mixed feelings disclosed that “My mum chose our wedding date four days before her demise. She told me the September date I chose was not good as certain events may not allow us to follow our dream. It was as if she was predicting her death and the events that would follow her burial.”
