Super eagles of Nigeria has qualified for the Semi-final at the ongoing African cup of Nations.      The eagles defeated the Bafana Bafana of South Africa with 2 goals to 1.   Samuel Chukwueze and William Troost-Ekong scored  the two goals. Congrats to Team naija

      Super Eagles player Peter Osaze Odemwingie got married to his lover sarah micheal today May 26,2012 .       The wedding took place in the Uk earlier today and was attended by the couple's friends and family .Osaze who currently plays for premier league club  West Bromwich Albion as a striker has been dating sarah for a while .More photos below

Rashidi yekini (Oct 23 1963 -May 4,2012)        Ex-Nigerian striker rashidi yekini was buried this morning  in Ira, Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State  according to muslim rights  .        The former african footballer of the year passed away yesterday in ibadan at the age of 48 due to what his close associates called depression. Rashidi was said to have been living a solitary life after retiring from football .At the burial which was attended by top officials,oyo and osun state Government donated N1M each to his family.   The former Super Eagles top striker was survived by aged mother , three wives and three children.      Former Nigerian striker Rashidi Yekini   is dead. Rashidi who played for super eagles of Nigerian within early and late 90s died today May 4,2012 in ibadan.He was 48.Rashidi was born october 23, 1963 in kaduna.He scored Nigeria's first goal in a FIFA world cup and won African footballer of the year title in 1993 .  He  scored 37 goals in 58 appearances for Nigeria. Rashidi had been reportedly sick for a while.   May his soul R.I.P!!!!

Gideon with osaze ,Gideon ,Gideon with Jesse jagz     Gideon Mikel Yobo ,the younger brother of super eagles player and captain   Joseph Yobo is now a gospel musician .     Gideon who currently lives in liverpool graduated last year from a top uk university with a masters degree in oil and gas Management.      He ventured into full time gospel rap music and performs with the name sparrowjay.He recently released his debut album and it's getting  good airplay on Uk major radio stations.    Gideon who  manages some of joseph 's businesses in london and turkey also plays football  for Frontline Church in the English FA National Christian League.

      Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins has hinted that he is ready to set up his own foundation in december . He  paid a visit to orictoritak motherless babies home in Kazan Russia, on Saturday , to give out gifts to orphans and motherless babies and stated that he will have the Nigerian version done in december.The gifts was given in memory of his late brother and mother.The foundation will also be setup in memory of his late brother. Martins last played in the Europa League for Rubin Kazan against  Tottenham, last week.

   Super Eagles winger  and  VVV Venlo of Holland   Ahmed Musa is set to quit bachelorhood as the enterprising forward plans to take his fiancee to the altar next month. According to Complete sports, The event is expected to be a low profile one as the former Kano Pillars forward who also is a key member of the Nigerian Olympic team gets the full backing of his family for his anticipated Arsenal of England move in the January transfer window.   Musa's family source  informed that the wedding is being planned for November well ahead of the anticipated switch to the English Premier League side. it was disclosed that Musa's fiancée Jamila resides in Gyadi-Gyadi Area in Kano. "They have been together for some time and now everything seems settled as they look for the future together," a source close to  Musa family said.

Super  eagles will earn $30,000-a-man if they beat South Korea tomorrow and qualify for the round of 16 at the 2010 World Cup. Victory for Nigeria over Korea in Durban combined with an expected Argentina win over Greece will see the Eagles through to the knockout stage of the tournament despite losing their first two matches.
