Aretha Franklin, the "Queen of Soul" whose recordings of such classics as "Respect" and "Chain of Fools" made her the first female artist to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, died Thursday of advanced pancreatic cancer. She was 76. She had dealt with undisclosed health issues that had kept her off stage in recent months. In March of 2018, she canceled a pair of scheduled concerts in due to what her management described as doctor’s orders. In subsequent months, she canceled scheduled performances in Boston and Toronto with management again saying that her doctors had told her to “stay off the road and rest completely.” At one of her last public performances, in June 2017, she closed out a free concert in her hometown of Detroit with the message: “God bless you, God keep you, keep me in your prayers.” Franklin was married twice, to Ted White, who became her personal manager, and to actor Glynn Turman. Al. Sharpton, and  Willie Wilkerson , Franklin's longtime companion .      In an interview at her swanky birthday party on Saturday, Franklin said she and Davis, who helped engineer her comeback in the 1980s, would be working on new music." I have re-signed with Clive Davis, so I'm recording with Clive again, " said Franklin of the music mogul, who is associated with Sony Music Entertainment.    Franklin said that after Davis' birthday next month, " we're going to sit together and decide what it is we're going to record ."    Wilkerson stood by Franklin's side as she cut her three-tier, lime-green birthday cake  while the crowd serenaded her with Stevie Wonder's version of "Happy Birthday."    

The new hope baptist church   The queen of soul , Aretha Franklin  and Singer-Producer  Stevie Wonder have been confirmed to  sing at the saturday private funeral of  Whitney Houston      Publicist  Kristen Foster  also confirms that invitations went out to Houston's ex-husband,  Bobby Brown,  her co-star in "The Bodyguard,"  Kevin Cosner ,and media mogul  Oprah Winfrey.   Organizers were getting the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey, ready Thursday for the musical part of the service, setting up speakers and drums in the aisles.    Houston's longtime musical mentor,  Clive Davis , will speak at the funeral and the eulogy will be given by gospel singer and longtime family friend Marvin Winans.    Fans without invitations will be kept far away but it has been confirmed that the funeral will be streamed online.

Aretha and willie        The queen of soul ,Aretha franklin has called off her wedding to longtime partner willie wilkerson . A statement released  some minutes ago on her facebook page shows Franklin's wedding to Willie wilkerson has been cancelled.    The statement reads;   Regretfully, To Our Friends and Supporters: Will and I have decided we were moving a little too fast, and there were a number of things that had not been thought through thoroughly.  There will be no wedding at this time. We will not comment on it any further because of the very personal and sensitive nature of it.  We appreciate all of the many well wishes from friends. Aretha & Will      Franklin, 69,who has four children from previous relationships announced shortly after New Year's Day that she was getting married and i t would have been the third wedding for her.

    Aretha Franklin   says she's ready to tie the knot with longtime friend William "Willie" Wilkerson .Franklin told The Associated Press in a statement Monday that the pair was considering a  summer wedding , perhaps on Miami Beach. The Queen of Soul wants to follow the ceremony with a reception on a private yacht.     The 69-year-old jokes, "No, I'm not pregnant."Franklin didn't say whether the pair had gotten engaged, and a representative didn't immediately reply to a message seeking clarification.
