The 360 members of the House of Representatives have resolved to donate their two months salary to the fight against the #COVID -19 pandemic in Nigeria, the Speaker, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila has announced.

        Jacques Joaquim Yhombi-Opango,  former president of the Republic of the Congo, has died after contracting coronavirus, his family said. Yhombi-Opango died  in a Paris hospital on Monday.  He was 81. Yhombi-Opango was ill before he contracted the virus, his son told AFP news agency. He led Congo-Brazzaville from 1977 until he was toppled in 1979, being  ousted by the country's current leader, Denis Sassou Nguesso.

       Drake revealed the face of his 2 year old son Adonis to the world yesterday with a long instagram caption. The photo generated a lot of mixed reviews.    Now a twitter user with handle @Samjorushmeyer is surprised Adonis is the replica of her son. In a tweet, she said  I can’t stop staring at it. It’s still creeping me out. My child is the exact same human as @Drake ’s son. It’s confirmed.      Daniel Dae Kim announced he’s “virus free,” 10 days after publicly revealing he tested positive for COVID-19. The 51-year-old  Lost  alum explained Sunday he “had a bit of a setback” after his last health update. “This disease is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced and this past week was no exception. So, the day after my last video, my course of treatment ended,” the actor revealed on social media. “I was feeling healthier, as I mentioned, and I thought it would be good to just let my immune system take charge the rest of the way. But, maybe I was a bit too confident. A day after, I started to feel sluggish, tired.     Davido's father, Dr. Deji Adeleke  has donated N500M worth of food stuff to Osun State to cushion the effect of coronavirus crisis. The donation was revealed by Ovation Magazine publisher, Chief Dele Momodu. Dr. Adeleke also donated N500M to the federal Government.

New York City is now the epicenter of America’s largest Coronavirus outbreak. Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, briefing reporters on Monday, said that the worst of the coronavirus outbreak was yet to come, even as another 253 people died in the state in a 24-hour period. He  said that 1,218 people had died in New York, up from 965 on Sunday morning. “If you wait to prepare for a storm to hit, it is too late,” the governor said. “You have to prepare before the storm hits. And in this case the storm is when you hit that high point, when you hit that apex. How do you know when you’re going to get there? You don’t.” New York reported almost 7,000 new cases of the virus, bringing the total to nearly 66,500. Most of the cases were in New York City, where, officials reported later on Monday, 38,087 people had been infected. The number of virus-related deaths in New York City rose to 914 Monday afternoon, up 138 from around the same time Sunday, officials said.

       In a post shared on Instagram, Drake revealed the face of his son to the world.      Maria Mercader, whose work at CBS News helped deliver the division’s breaking news from the U.S. and around the world to viewers, died Sunday due to coronavirus, CBS News said.       She was 54 years old and had been on medical leave for an unrelated matter since the last week in February.     CBS News said Mercader  fought cancer and related illnesses for more than 20 years, and noted that numerous treatments and surgeries had left her among the most vulnerable to the disease.

     AMVCA Winner for Best actor in a Comedy, Comedian Funnybone has threatened to sue the man who arrived from London with coronavirus symptoms and still attended AMVCA.       Just two days after it was revealed that Joe Diffie had tested positive for COVID-19, his publicist, Scott Adkins, has confirmed that the country legend has died due to coronavirus complications. The Grammy-winner and 25-year member of the Grand Ole Opry was 61 years old.        Diffie was the first country star to go public with a coronavirus diagnosis, announcing in a statement Friday: “I am under the care of medical professionals and currently receiving treatment. My family and I are asking for privacy at this time. We want to remind the public and all my fans to be vigilant, cautious and careful during this pandemic.” Joseph Logan Diffie was born Dec. 28, 1958, in Tulsa, Okla.

     The FBI has arrested actor Keith Middlebrook, who had uncredited roles in  Thor  and  Iron Man 2,  after he tried to sell a cure for the coronavirus. Middlebrook, who is based in Southern California, is believed to have falsely claimed that he was in possession of the antidote, in an attempt to receive funds and investment from numerous companies. The U.S. Department Of Justice released a statement on Wednesday detailing how Middlebrook had told his Instagram followers that his company would be able to make them hundreds of millions of dollars if they invested, as he insisted he had pills that would stop COVID-19 infections.  Middlebrook also sent out text messages saying that a coronavirus victim from Los Angeles had “got up and walked 51 hours after” being injected.

       The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has  announced a total restriction of movement in Abuja,  Lagos, and Ogun States. He said the restriction was to curb the community transmission of COVID-19 in the states where it is prevalent. He said this during a nationwide broadcast on Sunday. He said, “Based on the advice of the Federal Ministry of Health and the NCDC, I am directing the cessation of all movements in Lagos and the FCT for an initial period of 14 days with effect from 11pm on Monday, 30th March 2020. This restriction will also apply to Ogun State due to its close proximity to Lagos and the high traffic between the two States. “All citizens in these areas are to stay in their homes. Travel to or from other states should be postponed.        President Muhammadu Buhari will broadcast to the nation on Sunday evening, his spokesman has said.    The broadcast, scheduled for 7pm, will be on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), according to Femi Adesina.   He asked all television, radio and other electronic media outlets to hook up to the networks.

     Actress Angelina Jolie has donated $1 million as an effort to feed underprivileged children whose access to school lunches has been cut off due to closures amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. She has given $1 million to the charity No Kid Hungry, which says it has so far spread $2 million across 30 states to feed low-income children and their families . “As of this week, over a billion children are out of school worldwide because of closures linked to coronavirus,” said Jolie, 44 according to dailymail.

       Princess Maria Teresa of Bourbon-Parma, the cousin of Spain’s King Felipe IV, has become the first royal to die of the novel coronavirus. Her death was announced earlier this week by her brother, Prince Sixto Enrique de Borbón, the Duke of Aranjuez.  She was known as the “Red Princess" for her outspoken progressive views and activism.     On Friday, a mass was organized in Madrid in honor of the late princess, who was a professor at Paris’ Sorbonne and Madrid’s Complutense University.

     Davido has revealed his fiance Chioma has tested positive for coronavirus. The superstar revealed on his instagram page that he ran the mandatory tests with his wife and team, but Chioma's result came back positive. Hey everyone ! I came back recently from America after cancelling tour. My fiancé Chioma also came back from London recently with our baby. We had no symptoms and still both feel perfectly fine but because of our recent travel history we decided to take ourselves and our all close associates we’ve come in recent contact with for the COVID-19 test on the 25th of March. Unfortunately, my fiancé’s results came back positive while all 31 others tested have come back negative including our baby. We are however doing perfectly fine and she is even still yet to show any symptoms whatsoever. She is now being quarantined and I have also gone into full self isolation for the minimum 14 days.    A n anonymous woman sued Moroccan-American rapper French Montana on Thursday, alleging that she was given alcohol and raped during a party at the artist’s home in Hidden Hills, Calif. two years ago. The woman, identified only as Jane Doe — states that she blacked out and was sexually assaulted while she was incapacitated. According to the suit, the woman believes that Montana was one of the men who came into the bedroom and assaulted her. She also accuses Mansour Bennouna,  Montana’s purported business partner and “right-hand man” — of sexually assaulting her. Doe sued Montana, 35, under his legal name, Karim Kharbouch, and his company, Coke Boys Records, alleging that the company promotes an image of drinking, drug-taking and sexual misconduct.
