Sasha and eve performed at the 2010 MAMA       The 2011 MTV Africa music awards (MAMA) was scheduled to hold last year in South Africa but was cancelled .The main reason for the cancellation was that the major sponsor , telecom giant  Globacom pulled out of the deal at the last minute .     A source told newmen that the pull out broke the heart of the organizers because they had turned down the offer of a south-African based company after the mouth watering offer made by Glo.The award couldn't be held again in 2011 as earlier scheduled .    The organizers are now planning to hold the  MAMA awards  in the first quarter of 2012 and an official press release on the event  will be issued soon. © celebregion

MTV and Bharti airtel has signed partnership agreement to bring MTV africa music awards to lagos in december 2010. MTV 's celebration of contemporary African music and creativity will be held at the EKO EXPO Hall, Lagos on 11 December 2010, focusing the spotlight on Africa’s most outstanding musicians, from the heart of one of the continent’s  most vibrant cities.
