   First case of Corona Virus has been reported in Lagos. An italian man arrived in Nigeria on February 27, 2020 and went to Ewekoro in Ogun state for a consulting job where the symptoms started. He was moved to Lagos for proper diagnosis and it was confirmed that he has contacted Corona Virus. He's being treated in isolation now at a Goverment Hospital in Lagos. An actress who starred in the Queen of Katwe, a Disney film about a chess prodigy from a Ugandan slum, has died aged 15, Ugandan media report. Nikita Pearl Waligwa had been diagnosed with a brain tumour. The 2016 film was based on the true story of Phiona Mutesi, who took up chess aged nine despite not being in school and went on to compete in international tournaments. It starred Lupita Nyong'o as her mother and David Oyelowo as her chess teacher.

Former "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett was charged on Tuesday in a six-count felony indictment accusing him of staging a phoney hate crime in Chicago, nearly a year after similar charges were abruptly dismissed by local prosecutors. The indictment, capping a five-month special prosecutor's probe, accuses Smollett, who is black and openly gay, of making four separate false reports to Chicago police related to his account of being the victim of a violent hate crime. Smollett's lawyer, Tina Glandian, said the special prosecutor's use of police detectives who took part in the original investigation of her client raised "serious questions about the integrity" of his renewed prosecution. The previous charges "were appropriately dismissed the first time because they were not supported by the evidence," Glandian said.
