Governor Ibikunle Amosun Hosts First Yoruba Movie Academy Awards Today

 The   First Yoruba Movie Academy awards  will hold today June 3 at the New June 12 cultural centre Kuto Abeokuta ,Ogun state.      The Executive Governor of Ogun state,  Senator Ibikunle Amosun  will be the chief host of the event  he has promised to make it a very unique event as it will be part of his one year in office celebration.          Yomi fash lanso,odunlade adekola,muyiwa ademola, femi branch and femi adebayo will battle for best actor in a leading role while fathia balogun,toyin aimhaku, bimbo akintola,mosun filani and funke akindele will battle for best actress in a leading role.

Hubert Ogunde,Lere Paimo,Tunde Kelani To Be Honoured at Yoruba Movie Academy Awards

Ogun state commisioner for culture& tourism ,chief olu adeyemi addressing the press       Late  Hubert Ogunde ,chief Lere paimo, Tunde kelani, Moses Olaiya, Late Alade Aromire, Idowu Phillips(Mama rainbow), Abiodun Duro Ladipo (Moremi) , are among the great Yoruba movie icons who will be receiving awards at the maiden edition of Yoruba Movie Academy Awards (YMAA).     Speaking to the press,the ogun state commissioner for culture and tourism,chief olu adeyemi disclosed  the state goverment is ready to fully support the awards, “ we are constrained to lend our support to the institution of these awards, following the laudable objectives of YMAA which includes promotion and development of Tourism in Ogun State through movies, transformation of the state to the movie capital of Nigeria, creation of job opportunities among others, with the hope that the confidence the Ogun State Government has reposed in you through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will be justified .”He sa

Yoruba Movie Academy Awards Debuts-Nominees List

      The Maiden edition of  Yoruba Movie Academy Awards(YMAA)  is set to hold in Ogun state .     The plans for the award  ceremony was unveiled by ogun state government commissioner for culture and Tourism ,chief olu odeyemi who  reaffirmed the significance of the Yoruba movie industry in the development of culture and tourism in the state. “ It is worthy to note that Abeokuta is fast becoming the movie capital of the Southwest as plans are also underway to build a world class movie village towards the attainment of this historic objective ,” the commissioner declared.     According to the president and executive producer Mr Tunde Oshinibosi laface,“ The unprecedented growth of the Yoruba movie industry calls for an opportunity to honour and celebrate creativity, quality and hard work amongst practitioners on a yearly basis thereby encouraging them to further excel"."
