Lagos state plans another Eyo festival



Another Eyo Festival, the signature cultural festivity of Lagos,  is imminent as Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN)  has  reconvened the planning committee for the version done last year.
The Governor met with members of the committee chaired by Mr Disun Holloway at the State House, Marina on Saturday afternoon. The meeting was held behind closed doors.
The Committee was responsible for the organization of the Festival on April 25, 2009, staged in honour of the late first Information Minister of Nigeria, Otunba Theophilus Shobowale Benson.
Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Aremu Akiolu I, the Oniru of Iru Land, Oba Idowu Oniru, Commissioner for Home Affairs and Culture, Alhaji Tunde Balogun, Chairman of the Lagos Island Local Government, Prince Wasiu Sanni- Eshinlokun, White Cap Chiefs and Elder Statesmen attended the meeting
