Avril Lavigne Was Bedridden For 5 Months As A Result Of Lyme Disease

It comes as a shocking piece of news when we learnt that pop singer,Avril Lavigne was close to death as a result of a severe case of Lyme disease.


At first,Avril who has been pretty much absent from the entertainment industry did not understand why her health was deteriorating rapidly as doctors also could not identify the reason why she was lethargic at a young age and why she could barely drag herself out of bed for months.

According to the Canadian pop singer "I could barely eat, and when we went to the pool, I had to leave and go lie in bed," "My friends asked, 'What's wrong?' I didn't know."

Apparently,the illness was identified as Lyme disease(an illness as a result of tick bites) after a celebratory trip to Las Vegas.


Avril was able to receive proper treatment for the infectious disease as she was fortunate to have her mother and her husband at her side. After a few months, she was back on her feet and feeling great again.

"There were definitely times I couldn't shower for a full week because I could barely stand," she shared. "It felt like having all your life sucked out of you."

We are happy Avril has recovered from the disease and fans await new music from the singer after her long absence.
