D' Crow is a Nigerian Hip Hop artist, formerly a member of KnightHouse crew. Here's a recent interview he had with Celebregion. Enjoy!

Celebregion; Lets get to meet D' Crow

My Government name is ADEDA Omohwo Martin and I'm a graduate from the University of Lagos.

Celebregion; What is the significance of the name, sounds kinda attached to something. . .

Well when I was much younger I was the guy that was always rapping everywhere I was, on the street, to a beat, tapping my feet and even dropping bars using my heartbeat to pace myself, so basically my approach was always heard anywhere i was going and in time my friends started basically saying "Oh here comes that crow again" letting me know that i was always the one making noise when it came to rapping so in a way the name got stuck and became associated with my rapping.

Celebregion; Cool! so how did u get into music, what was that major driving force?

It started off when i started writing songs and performing some of them that I realised I could actually do this and i started honing my skills before i finally got into the studio and just took it from there, as for my driving force, i gotta say that its the desire to continually keep improving and doing what i love to do.

Celebregion; You was once a pioneer of the foremost Hip Hop group, Knighthouse. Tell us about your experience

Well, I wouldn't use the word pioneer okay, i would more say that i was one of the members when the movement started and the experience was good for me as it helped grow up in my own style of music.

Celebregion; How is ur debut album doing in the market and what do u think about the whole fuss between being a real head and going mainstream?

The album "The Truth" is doing well as doing well goes and as for the whole fuss, i guess i'm still one of dose that feel hip hop should be done the way each artist perceives it, but when the elements that make people consider your brand of music to be hip hop are absent then i have a problem with you calling your music hip hop because frankly it is not and i guess that's where a lot of people are having problems with our Nigerian Hip hop.

Celebregion; Who would you consider your biggest influence in the Nigerian Hip Hop scene

I don't know about biggest influence in Nigerian hip hop but i look at artists like elDee and 2face and their staying power, I get motivated to try and write my own part of history so that some other musician can look at my own career and prolly get inspired to do his own bit for the music industry in the country

Celebregion; Challenges so far?

Challenges are there to be overcome and that's precisely the angle i look at every one i encounter

Celebregion; Apart from music, wat else r u involved wit?

Well i am a fully trained DENTIST and I'm currently in the process of working on some business ventures that should start paying the bills soon.

Thanks for the time and we wish you the very best of luck in your endeavours! ~Donald for Celebregion
