I had an interview with one of Nigeria's current best female vocalist known as Fragrance ,Enjoy the interview and her songs.



What are your real names?

BRIDGET ORITSEMATOSAN KAYOH

Tell us a bit about your educational background?

Did my primary and secondary schools in Warri. Was doing a diploma but it was in a course I didn't like and decided to pursue my career. Still doing the diploma online but it takes the back burner as I am fully focused on my career.


Which part of Nigeria are you from?

The oil-rich Delta State. I am Itsekiri. but my mum is half Scottish half Urhobo. I playfully refer to myself as a quartercaste. lol. That explains my very light complexion

When did you start singing?

I had the whole church clapping when I was Ten and peolple started calling me a musician. I guess it stuck

Who are the people that inspired you?Mariah Carey, Celine Dionne and latterly, Beyonce


What are the challenges you have been facing?

Nigeria is one big challenge don't you think? the whole structurelessness and lack of support for the struggling artiste. And not to mention finance. But I really don't see them as I am fully focused on the goal


Are you currently signed to any record label?

No I am not. My sophomore album 'HONEYSWEET' is ready. In it I featured 2face, Rymzo, Brace, Sweetdee, Adol etc and it was produced by Puffy T, Jokaynie, Bayo Joseph, Charles Duke, Kaka, Tony Ross etc I am receiving a few offers already

What are the songs you currently have out now?

I have leaked a few songs from the HONEYSWEET album... lol. in fact up to seven. You can listen to all seven on http://www.mytruspot.com/fragrance The album is an eighteen tracker so it is also worth getting once it drops. The video for 'WE BE ONE' featuring LKT and directed by DJ Tee is also on same site and perhaps all the top Nigerian and even Ghanaian sites like Museke.com has them as well


Whats your relationship with other nigerian artistes ?

Great. I mean to feature 2face, Rymzo and all the others and be featured by Faze, Freestyle, Fresh, Kaka Tony Ross and all the others, we must be really cool right? It just shows how much support we give to each other



Do you have an album coming out?

Already said. Yes I do. It is called Honeysweet. My debut album SO LOVELY was released in 2007. It had such songs as LOVER N FRIEND featuring Rocksteady, FREE and IF U PLAN TO BREAK my heart. these song went number one on radio stations in Nigeria including Rhythm 93.7

If so what should we expect in the album?

Really great songs

How do you wish to spread your brand of music across to people home and abroad?

lol. I am doing that now through you right? we will do it the conventional way and through the internet

What message do you have for your fans and how can they get in touch with you?

Believe in your girl and support her. pray for me too cos talent is not enough. God's grace is
