Embattled hip hop act Eedris Abdulkareem has returned to his former label that brought him fame, this is coming at a time where there seems to be a major overhaul of the Kennis music recording company. The company has off recent signed the last two winners of the star quest along side Jaywon, also, unlike the usual low budget videos previously churned out by the Label it recently released screen daring musical videos employing the services of vast music video directors like DJ Tee, Clarence Peters and Gbenga Saliu. There are also reports of Kelly Hansome returning and releasing his next album ‘names of noise makers’ on Kennis Music. Kelly Hansome had some time after the release of the repackaged ‘Maga Don Pay’ album went to the press to say ‘Kennis Music did nothing for me’ that brew a discord

Ego Got groove

Ego
Jennifer Nwakaego Oduah – stage name Ego – is about to take her relatively lengthy career (considering her age) in the entertainment sector to another level. Born in Benin City in 1986, Ego kicked off her musical odyssey when she was six, singing at Christmas carols at her catholic primary school, Regina Mundi, Asaba, Delta state, where she’s from.
This though, is not the only activity that has prepared the Afro-pop crooner for her present occupation. An alumnus of the Lagos Model College, Ego – which means money in Ibo – spent time pursuing a career in pageantry, contesting in competitions like the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) and modelling for fashion outfits Zizi Cardow and Modella, while singing and miming at gigs.
These extra-curricular activities however took a back stage to her academic pursuits as she enrolled at the University of Lagos for a course in – not surprisingly – the Creative Arts. Her course encompasses music, theatre arts and visuals amongst other things.
A go-getter who inputs all her energy to achieve her targets, the light-skinned Ego has decided to follow her initial dreams of attaining stardom using music as her medium. Her first single, “Omalicha Nwa” translates to a beautiful child. The single, which features an appearance from fellow label mate Harrisong, has drawn favourable comments from industry watchers, thus encouraging Ego and the Questionmark label to speed up work on her forthcoming album.
Admitting that she loves cameras, Ego’s list of musical inspirations include namesake Jennifer Lopez, and Toni Braxton. Little wonder then, that she plans to be the best while also preaching love and motivating people with her music.
Drawing from her experiences in modelling and fashion, and armed with a degree in the Creative Arts, the odds of Ego making it big in the Nigerian entertainment scene are short; especially when you consider an industry behemoth in the guise of Questionmark being the label behind her.

On Oprah winfrey

Oprah Winfrey
Oprah Winfrey will retire the syndicated talk show that made her rich, famous and, if not a kingmaker, a maker of a media empire, several bestselling authors and perhaps even a U.S. President.
There’s still plenty of time to pick up scented candles and black bunting: Winfrey isn’t leaving until the end of her contract with syndicator CBS Television Distribution, which runs through the 2010-11 season, its 25th on national TV. The last of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” would air on Sept. 9, 2011.
Harpo Productions on Thursday confirmed both Winfrey’s decision and that she will discuss it on her program, her last live show of the calendar year.
Speculation has been rampant that Winfrey might be preparing to leave daytime TV ever since it was announced in January 2008 that she and Discovery Networks planned to partner on a cable network: OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network.
The new cable network’s debut, originally set for this year, already has been delayed more than once and a launch date is expected to be firmed up soon for sometime in 2010. OWN will take the place of what is now Discovery Health, available in 70 million homes from the start.
One hurdle for the new venture was that until Winfrey completed her commitment to CBS Television Distribution and the stations that carry her program, she would not be free to do a talk show for the cable channel or give other OWN matters her full attention. Even with an end date for her syndicated show in sight, it was not immediately clear whether she will actually do a program for the channel.

  1. Hope things work out for Eedris...I was actually listening to one of his old tracks a few days ago and wondering about him & his career in the music industry. Good luck to Ego too.

  5. Eedris in my opinion just needs to gt the right producers in his corner and make an entire album of only club hits. That should blow him out of the water. Don't see what re-signing with Kennis will do for him.
