Music Icon Youssou N'dour Appointed Senegal's Culture Minister

Youssou Ndour 

    World music icon Youssou Ndour has been named the new senegals 's minister for culture and tourism.

    The announcement was made on wednesday by the new elected President Macky Sall,two days after his inauguration ceremony.Ndour had earlier organized a big concert for sall on monday night to celebrate the new era in senegal .

    Senegal's new president won a runoff election by a large margin, defeating  former leader Abdoulaye Wade.
   Earlier this year, the grammy award winning singer Ndour himself launched a failed bid for the presidency  but was disqualified and later threw his support behind Sall.
