Nollywood stars Join Activists For International Women's Day Rally [Photos]

  Nollywood stars- foluke daramola, Ayo badmus joined pastor tunde bakare(save Nigeria group) ,Dr Joe okei-odumakin(president,women arise) for a rally/march to mark international women's day march 8,2012 .

      The rally took off from Allen-Round about ikeja to Alausa Secretariat, after some speakers have expressed their views on women and girl-child abusein the country.This year's celebration is tagged  Fix the Girls ,Shape the Future.

   Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin  decried the rising cases of women and girl-child abuse, saying that it was uncalled for and urged government to do something about it.

“There have been so many acts of violence against women and girls. Women should rise against it while the government should pay more attention to this,” she said.

    Nollywood actress, Folake Daramola called on girls to keep themselves and shun every form of prostitution. She called on mothers to spend more time at home so as to inculcate the right values in them.

   Hundreds of children joined the protest carrying different placards . They later marched to the Governor’s office where they were  be received by Mrs Adejoke orelope-Adefulire,Deputy Governor of Lagos State.

   Stars invited but weren't present include kate henshaw,Kwam 1, fathia balogun, and jide kosoko.
