Yaya Toure named African Footballer of the Year



   Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure has been crowned the new African footballer of the year beating Mali’s Seydou Keita and Ghana’s Andre Ayew to the CAF African player of the year 2011 during a ceremony held in Accra yesterday .

      The 28-year old player has been inspirational for Premier League leaders Manchester City and scored the winner against Stoke City in the FA Cup final to claim their first major title since City’s League Cup victory in 1976.
   Nigeria's Austin Jay Jay Okocha was also awarded 2011 Legend Award .
