Is Akon Afraid To Sign African artistes Because of Piracy and Distribution Problems?

     Senegalese -American R&B singer /producer Aliaune Damala Badara Thiam, better known as  Akon has been the the subject of few controversies lately , the first is the online death hoax  and  the latest  is the report of signing Nigerian music stars , Tuface , Wizkid , and P square to his konvict Music Label.

   Tuface  denied signing any record deal with Akon few days ago which gave birth  to a question " Is Akon afraid to sign any African artiste to his label" .

  Though Akon has produced many successful  artistes including lady gaga who was signed to Konvict/Redone /Interscope , T-Pain also signed to Konvict Music,Kardinal offishall ,brick& lace and many more but when it comes to African talented artistes , it becomes a joke.

     Akon reportedly signed Faze three years ago but when faze was asked during a TV interview last week about the deal , he said "When he (Akon) tried to talk about me on the internet ,we talked about trying to clear up some things in the Nigerian industry ,Piracy and distribution are the main problems and it's difficult because they know the market here is very big" we nigerians buy cd ,we promote our artiste but in ghana ,they dont buy cd ,they will only come to your show and rip your songs on the radio. 

     The statement Faze made about Ghana has given the reason why he didn't sign Ghanaian rapstar Sarkodie in the first place . Everybody believed sarkordie has been releasing his materials under Akon's Konvict Africa  until few weeks ago when he talked to Tim Westwood on BBC , He said "I am not signed. Akon endorsed Sarkodie. You need to watch out for Sarkodie from Ghana. That's what Akon is saying".Sarkodie is still not signed to any record label till now .

    The truth is that Akon would 've loved to sign top african artistes especially Nigerian stars to his record label because he knows we are very huge . 

 But the question now is  'Is Akon Afraid To Sign African artistes Because of Piracy and Distribution problems?
