  1. I have never heard of this particular award show in the US before now. I listened to some of the music from the known musicians, very good. Nice site!

  2. The lyricist of the year has been created for Mode 9 cos he has not collected any other category since that award started . tubaba and Asa deserve album of the year and DJ tee also tried in the video ,so he deserves it . welldone to all of them

  3. My take:
Album of the year is definitely ASA. From the criteria set by the judges it is only beautiful imperfection that meets all the standard except we are only talking about acceptance in Nigeria alone.
Best R N B/POP Album still goes to ASA cos the reason above.
Best Rap Single: do these guys know what rapping means? remove the chorus from Oleku and what you will get is street rap which is very light..My take Terry Tha Rapman
Best Collabo: For me its Oleku...I think we should begin to understand what these awards means before we choose a winner...It should what total difference the featuring artist brings to the song.
Conscious Track: I think its Omawunmi because the cut across every genre of the society. Many people are not politically conscious but are conscious of child abuse.More sure I cant remember of little sibling miming One day but they can sing If you ask me and they know what it means.

  4. in the States and other prestigious awards - Oscars and MTV, if any artist is nominated twice for  the same category, he/she automatically disqualifies himself/herself from winning. For instance, Forrest whitaker taking the actor of the year because leonardo Di Caprio was nominated twice in the same category. It serves as some form of control on artistic expressions so to say but since it was my man, Don Jazzy that is involved guess i'll have to turn a blind eye...Nice selection though best conscious song of the year should have gone to Timi Dakolo or Tuface.

  5. i beg to disagree on that...Eni Duro deserve that award even though the category seems very tight.
