    The organizers of Hennessy Artistry, the innovative musical platform launched by Hennessy worldwide in 2006, announced today an impressive list of artistes who will participate in this year’s edition.

Hennessy’s Communications Manager, Tokini Peterside, told journalists at a star-studded media briefing today that Hip Hop Star - eLDee the Don, R&B siren - Tiwa Savage, King of the Lagos Party - Banky W and Chocolate City’s multi-talented producer - Jesse Jagz, have all signed up to be part of this year’s Hennessy Artistry project.

According to Peterside, this set of artistes was chosen because of their cutting edge style that sets them apart from the crowd. They are coming together to create, mix and blend their different styles and sounds, to deliver a special song that represents the vibrant music genres in Nigeria.

“The grouping together of such varied artistes is what Hennessy Artistry is all about. That is: a perfect blend of unique elements similar to what is experienced with Hennessy’s premium range of cognacs. Similar to last year’s edition, a video will be shot for the song these artistes come up with. Four premium night experiences are also in the works at which our consumers can get to be a part of the Hennessy Artistry experience” Peterside adds

The Hennessy Artistry experience this year will give Hennessy consumers and music lovers the opportunity to see eLDee, Tiwa Savage and Banky W live at the Hennessy Artistry VIP Nights coming up in September and October in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. Fans will also be able to win a ‘VIP Night-Out’ at these events, including an exciting up close and personal experience with the headliners and VIP hospitality treatment courtesy of Hennessy. As a prelude to these exclusive VIP Nights, a Hennessy Artistry Club Tour will kick off in August and storm through various clubs in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. The club parties will feature performances by artistes such as YQ, DavidO, Shank and BlackMagic, and will be headlined by DJ Caise.

The Hennessy Artistry music platform, a global property created by Hennessy made its debut in Nigeria in 2007. The maiden edition was a cocktail mixing contest among bartenders. In 2008, Hennessy Artistry’s format changed to a competition among upcoming disc jockeys. Music artistes got heavily involved in Hennessy Artistry in 2009, when it evolved to a competition among up-and-coming talents. The artistes involved in the 2009 edition were Ice Prince, Mo’ Cheddah, Jimmy Flames, Bez and Blaise. Ice Prince eventually emerged as the winner of the 2009 contest.  

In 2010, Hennessy Artistry featured Nneka, MI, Ice Prince, Bez and Shina Peters – artistes who represent a wide range of Nigerian music. They came together to compose a song titled ‘Like A Bottle’ which was produced by Kas with a music video shot thereafter and a Grand Finale Concert at the GET Arena in Lagos
