BOBTV Announces Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as Chief Speaker,Darey To Perform



    Organizers of the leading Film and Television Programmes expo announced early today that the special guest of honour and chief speaker for BOBTV 2012 is the Minister of finance and coordinating minister for the economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

    Okonjo-Iweala is to give a keynote speech at the BOBTV 2012 Opening ceremony on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. She will be talking about the creative industry and transformation agenda by the government.
   Executive producer Amaka Igwe says “Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala will be explaining the reason why the creative industry has been identified as one of the five areas of concentration in the government and the importance of achieving its aims”

Igwe continues, “The Minister will also be sharing the relevant excerpts for the creative industry in President Goodluck Jonathan’s 2012 Nigeria budget proposal. One of these excerpts includes Investing in priority sectors and creating jobs. These organizations would promote job creation, inclusive growth by investing in critical infrastructure, human capital development and security including more support from the police, defence and counter-terrorism operations.”

Other guests at the opening ceremony include Core Lecturer for the event, Efere Ozako (CEO Maxarro LLC), Host, Emeka Mba (DG, NFVCB), Chairman of event, Chinenye Uzoukwu (MD, Infosoft).

    The Exhibition will be declared open by the special guest of honour, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
Veteran actress and director, Joke Silva, Executive Producer of AMAA, Peace Fiberesima and Production Designer, Pat Nebo are also scheduled to receive the Best of the Best Honours 2012 at the opening ceremony.

Opening activities include the special screening of ‘Big Daddy’, a short film on rape directed and produced by Chris Ihidero which will be aired at the Silverbird cinemas. Various activities scheduled to hold during the three day Expo include seminars, an autograph session with the cast of MNET’s Tinsel, workshops, exhibitions, university challenges etc.

     As part of the line up for BOBTV 2012, the organizers also announced that the closing ceremony for the Expo will feature a live band performance by Soul Muzik’s Soul band as well as a performance from Africa’s king of R&B, Darey Art Alade.

    The Premiere of “Adesuwa” an epic movie by Ace filmmaker Lancelot Imasuen Oduwa will also take place on Wednesday, March 142012.
    In keeping with BOBTV tradition of film and social responsibility there will be films on women trafficking by Dr. Joy Emordi. Other films are expected from popular filmmakers from Liberia, Mali and Ghana.
