Reggae Star Jah Cure Disqualified From MOBO Awards After Rape Conviction



    Reggae star Jah Cure has been disqualifed from the MOBO Awards after they discovered his extensive criminal history.
The singer - real name Siccature Alcock - was removed from the Best Reggae Act category, when the organisers found that he had been convicted of rape in 1999. Jah was also found guilty of gun possession and robbery and spent time behind bars before being released in 2007. 
   According to The Sun, the star was deemed ineligible to be nominated for the award due to the "severity of the crime."
Other artists nominated in the Reggae category include: Damian Marley & Nas ,khago alborosie  and Mavado, and they have not disclosed  who will replace Jah.
The MOBO Award ceremony takes place in glasgow ,scotland on October 5.
